PET of the MONTH

BENJI OCT 2020
Benji is a four year old Australian Shepherd who's been with his family since he was a puppy. He's been a Shamrock Dog Park fanatic ever since he was able to join to use up his Aussie energy. His favorite activity is to play chase - especially if he is the one being chased! He also enjoys his daily walks around the neighborhood, catching tennis balls in the backyard, and being a great and patient big brother to a 15 month old little boy. He has excelled at beginner agility classes and has perfected his howl to match any fire trucks that pass by.
GIZMO SEP 2020
Gizmo is about nine years old and after being rescued from a bad situation, was adopted into our family. Her humans are Bill and Marsha and she has an older dog brother named Egon. Egon is a coon-hound and very loud - which Gizmo got used to. Gizmo is shy and protective of her personal space, so she'll let you know if you are bothering her. She loves to walk her humans and has a special fondness for French Fries.
CAMILLA AUG 2020
Camilla was a month shy of 14 years old when she crossed the rainbow bridge in June. She was adopted when she was about six years old through Purdue's teaching dog program. She was a lover and had quite the group of human admirers. Like any lab, food was life. If you had a treat, she was your best friend forever. Doggie Dip and Pooch Plunge were always favorite events of hers - she loved splashing in the water. She loved people and going to the dog park (so much that we had to say "Pog Dark" so she didn't get overly excited). Her routine at the Dog Park was sniffing the entire perimeter fence, greeting all the humans to get some lovin', and dunking her head in the nearest water bucket.
Rest in Peace Camilla (June 2020).
SABLE JUL 2020
Sable was the matriarch of The W Pack family (with Kylie and Compton) and a longtime member of Shamrock Dog Park. She was adopted over 13 years ago from AHHS and turned 14 years old June 18th 2020. In her younger days, she loved running and playing with her dog friends, but later preferred resting in the shade and watching over the park. When not at the Dog Park, Sable loved going on long walks through our favorite trails and creeks and napping in her backyard spot. She lived a long life - loving and caring for her siblings, including a senior brother and sister that crossed the bridge before her. She was the best big sister and companion a family could ask for and miss her dearly.
Rest in Peace sweet Sable (December 2020).
POOKA MAY 2020
Pooka is a three year old Shar Pei x Husky mix adopted two years ago through PawSwap. She was selected because she was the most respectful of our senior Yorkie (Howie) who is shy and dog selective (best friends now). She loves playing with her doggy friends and making human friends. Her favorite pups to play with are much bigger than her - one of her best friends is a Great Dane! She's the only extrovert in our house and has been getting some cabin fever while we are on lock down but we are making up for that with field trips to the Parks. When things are normal, she gets to help mom at work by being an adult teacher dog at play and being a demo dog during training lessons. She also loves watching animals on TV!
SYDNEY FEB 2020
Sydney is a fun-loving Maltese rescue (adopted from LOVING HEART ANIMAL SHELTER in August 2019). When at the Dog Park, she occasionally will give the bigger dogs a good run along the fence line. Like all creatures, she has her particular quirks and behaviors, but is very loved and appreciated for her unique qualities!
PETER JAN 2020
Peter is a rambunctious, clever two year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi that is full of life and energy. He is proud of his status as one of the fastest dogs that visit the Dog Park - (won 2nd place in the 2019 Purdue Corgi Race.) Most people only get to see his frantic, energetic side, but his deep secret is that he love to snuggle. Peter is extremely particular and likes things to be done his way. If you are not sure what "his way" means, don't worry - he will let you know with a demanding bark. While he can be a handful at times, Peter brings joy and laughter to everyone he meets.
CHLOE DEC 2019
Chloe was born in April 2015; she is four years old. She enjoys running around the backyard, playing in the kiddie pool, and going for long walks. She loves the Dog swim events ... Pooch Plunge at Armstrong Park and Doggie Dip and Prophetstown State Park. She loves people, getting pampered at the groomer, and attending Day Play at Simon & Halles.
